ColourPop Haul & Review

I would like to think that when it comes to make up I'm fairly well versed. I've been into make up since I was young enough to notice the blue MAC eyeshadow in my mom's make up bag and swipe it on my eyelids with my fingers. Thankfully there's no photo evidence of that time in my life. Since then I would say my taste has refined and I've become a bit of a make up geek in the years following.

ColourPop is a brand I've hear A LOT about. From controversy with Kylie Cosmetics in which people speculate it's the same formula made in the same warehouse for her liquid lipsticks, to their (spoiler) AMAZING highlighter. It has though, taken me a while to finally order some stuff from their warehouse. Now I don't mind ordering make up online as long as it's not anything having to do with my skin tone, aka foundation or concealer, those babies I need to try out in person cause my pale face doesn't want to end up even more ghostly or worse, yellow.

Last Friday I decided to give their website a whirl because I've been on the hunt for the perfect highlighter. I'm fair skinned but I also suffer from rosacea which causes me to have red and pink blotches on my face and depending on how I wake up each and every day depends on how intense the rosacea can be. With all of that, my skin tone is still cool toned so I have to be very particular with the type of shimmer I'm looking for in a highlighter. I immediately fell in love with the Super Shock Highlighter in shade name Flexitarian.

The formula on this is insane! The color online is described as an "intense white champagne" and honestly it's a perfect description for this. To the touch this feels like a crème base but goes on like a powder highlighter. One swipe with my finger and I had enough pigment for both checks and it was BLINDING. Now that's what I look for when buying a highlighter.

Since I was already on ColourPop's website I couldn't leave without checking out the liquid lipsticks. Even though my mother yells at me for continuing to buy liquid lipsticks, or just lipsticks in general, I can't I love them too much (case in point, my obsession with Jeffree Star liquid velour lipsticks). I absolutely love long wearing liquid lipsticks. I like the fact that I don't have to worry that it's gonna come off if I drink my daily coffee or having to go re-apply even hour or so because it's worn off. Although ColourPop has some beautiful nude shades, I wanted to try some bolder shades to see how well their pigment was, and I think the stains on my hand from swatching them are proof enough for me that these lipsticks are here to stay (on your lips).

From left to right: ColourPop Pressed Eye Shadows in Oh Ship, Sandbar, Slim Fit, and Seas the Day

Shadows are not something I've heard a lot about from ColourPop so I thought I would give them a try, and for $4 each pigment how could I say no, especially if you purchased four you would get a free palette to be able to store the shadows in which normally retails for $7. I'm very excited to try these color out for a fun night out, especially Sandbar.

Finally the final product I purchased from ColourPop unfortunately arrived damaged for me, but I'm sure I can fix it easily, it just made me a little sad since the photo online looked sooo pretty. Similar to the highlighter it's a crème-powder formula and the color just glides on when you swatch it. I got it in shade DGAF and there's so many others I would purchase but I wanted to try out first one just to see how it would go with me.

Overall I'm so hyped and pleased with everything I purchased from ColourPop and for the price of it all, I'll certainly be shopping from them again.
