It's spring in Ohio which means it's April 10th and there's snow falling outside. I'll be honest, I'm not the best when it comes to layers, I tend to stick to just one sweater, leggings and my snow boots the second I see a single snowflake hit the ground but today I tried to be a little more daring.
I picked this simple black swing dress I've had for a while from Old Navy. I love wearing it in the summer and spring because its flowy and hits my thighs at just the right length. I paired my black dress with a recent rediscovery I had in my closet. I've had this turtleneck from Aerie for over a year now but for some reason I just never liked wearing it (AND I BOUGHT IT IN TWO COLORS!). You know when you start disliking an item you own and then you find an excuse to never wear it? This was me with this turtleneck, it was always hanging in my closet and I never wore it until recently when I started pairing it with my black leather jacket and just fell in love (I wore it like that in my spring break trip to Washington DC, looks from that to come soon).
Unfortunately for those of us currently in the Midwest, the weather is pretty much unpredictable, so I started the day thinking I'd be able to wear a simple skirt and a t shirt but quickly had to switch that up when I realized there was snow falling from the sky. I put on my favorite tights from Target and these booties from Macys that used to belong to my roommate but she never wore them so she gave them to me #winning. I got so many compliments on this day and it just made an otherwise boring day actually so much fun and I didn't even care that it was snowing.
