I'm in Florence, continuing my studies of fashion merchandising for the fall semester. I've been in Italy roughly two weeks now and I can say without a doubt, it is good to be back in Europe. Europe to me is like no other place, between the mix of cultures and history there's always something to learn and bring back with you from being abroad. As a fashion student, clearly I enjoy seeing the distinction between fashion in the United States and fashion seen throughout Europe. Today while walking in the afternoon through the Piazza della Repubblica, this woman's jeans caught my eye. Now I love jeans, you can catch me wearing jeans 3-4 times a week so I'm a sucker for new styles and trends when it comes to denim. I've particularly loved the resurgence of flared jeans because the 70s flower child inside of me wants to dance in circles whenever I see them, and the frayed bottom effect I've been noticing in the past few months. So when I saw a combination of flared, frayed jeans my heart stopped.
Intimidated I walked up to the woman and asked her (firstly if she spoke English because if she didn't I haven't learned the non creepy way to ask in Italian if I can take someone's photo) if she minded if I snapped some photos of her look. Thankfully she was so sweet and I got these photos to always remember the jeans that got away.
Again thank you Débora for not being too scared of me when I approached you and asked if I could take your photo.
