This past Thursday we boarded the 7:30 am train to Milan for two days full of fashion, street style, and trade shows. While there, my group got a tour of Corso Como, an Italian concept store which was the first of its kind anywhere in the world. Corso Como combines the elements of fashion, design, art, food, and lifestyle. Enveloped by greenery outside and polka dots everywhere inside, it's easy to get lost within the store and all it has to offer. Afterwards we went to a museum which was holding an exhibit on Gustav Klimt. We finished the day at Armani/Silos looking at the vast collection of designs Armani has produced over the years.
On Friday morning we boarded our busses for Lineapelle, a leather trade show which made me fall absolutely in love with a new aspect of the fashion industry. I got to talk with representatives from different tanneries, manufacturers, and distributors while understanding the inner workings of this segment of fashion. Part of our project in Milan was to observe and document the street style seen throughout Milan. The crowd in Milan is much more fashionable to the one we see on a daily basis in Florence. Florence is over run much more by tourists which makes is hard sometimes to see clearly what is the Italian style scene versus the international one from tourists. I loved the incorporation of mixing prints and colors by so many of the people I photographed in Milan and specifically at Lineapelle.

That afternoon we went to a contemporary art exhibit at Pirelli HangarBicocca. There were some really cool and interesting light exhibits which was fun to play around in and take photos of.
There is most definitely a lot for me to discover in Milan and I'm excited to hopefully return here someday soon.
